The Precious Blood of Jesus Part #1 Pastor John Doonan

1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

God created blessing and cursing. He created it so we would be exercised in between them. When we have had all of the world has to offer and still find that we are not satisfied, what remains is God.

There is a basic truth that is carried throughout the Word of God—it is the Blood of Jesus Christ. In God’s eyes that blood is precious. He wants us to under-stand how precious the blood is. Every time He has dealt with the blood, it has been a solemn occasion.

The Blood of Jesus Christ is not a casual matter. God wants us to be conscious of what the blood means all the time. The Blood was the first offering God made for the sins of man in the Garden of Eden. God shed blood and covered man with the skin of the sacrificed animal so he would not be naked.

"The flesh with the life thereof thou shall not eat," in Jewish law the flesh with the blood in it. Of all the animals of the earth, He said, I have given you this meat to eat, but you shall not eat it with the life thereof, the blood. God told Noah, "the life is in the blood." The blood is so precious because it is the carrier of life.

Over the centuries of the earth, God has sensitized us through regulations and decrees to understand the sacredness of life that is in the blood. In Genesis the bible says the blood of a man is precious. If you shed the blood of man, then so should your blood be required. When the blood of a man flows into the earth, the earth is de-filed. The only way to clean the land is if the blood the murderer is poured upon that spot. Cleansing comes through the blood.

If God considers the death of an animal pre-cious, and the blood of any man precious, then how much more precious is the blood of Jesus His Son.

God made a covenant with Abraham. Abraham shed his blood to mark the time and moment. Abraham said, "the life that is in my blood is your life, I will give all that I have if you give me all that you have." God could not confirm that covenant because He couldn’t shed His own blood. Not until the time appointed and He came in the body of His son Jesus.

In Hebrews it talks about how the blood of goats and bulls were sacrificed and continually offered up to God for mans sins. How much more precious is the blood of His Son. Jesus came to us because of our sins and failures. He had no failure, He served God, He served man, He magnified the law and He made it honorable. Then He gave His own blood, not just any blood, but the blood of God. God had taken on a body. It is now so much more important to our covenant when we realize God has finally shed blood. The life of God had poured out onto this land. All of the death, all the filth and sin that had defiled this earth needed the blood to cleanse it. The death that reigned from Adam to now, cried out from the ground was finally cleansed.

It is the blood of Jesus that washes us whiter than snow and draws us to the Father. Being for-given and reconciled with God comes only by the way of the blood. Men who still stand in their sin are destroyed and out of fellowship with God. 1 John 1:8-9 says "If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Therefore we stand before the Cross of Christ knowing He gave Himself freely. The blood that flowed from that cross is the re-deeming power. It was the price Christ paid for our sins once and for all. We Are Redeemed from the curse of the law; Jesus Christ being made the curse for us set us free from the curse of the law, free from bondage and the fear of failure. The price is paid; the debt satisfied.

Jesus gave His blood once, and as the High Priest, He entered through the veil by Faith. Having finished the law, once and for all, so that we might follow where He goes before us. God divided that veil, our doorway to His love, so no one could close it again . The blood of Jesus is that key to God’s heart.

Fullness of Grace
April Helminiak

The harvest is ripe, the laborers are few.
The question I’m asked, is which one are you?
I want them to see the fullness of Grace,
I want them to feel they are there face to face.
With the one that loved and the one that died,
The one that took away their hurt and their pride.
I will be on my knees when the gathering is done
I want my Lord to see that new life has begun.
