The Precious Blood of Jesus Part #3 Pastor John DoonanRedemption In The Blood
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us: for it is written, Cursed (is) every one that hangeth on a tree:14 That the
blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Atonement In The Precious Blood
1John 1:7 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we
say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is
not in us. The Precious Blood Cleanses
The Blood Preserves
Gods blood was given so we would understand the power that is in Christ that power in which our faith stands. Remember the story of Moses in Egypt? God sent Moses to deliver and set free His people, but Pharaoh hardened his heart repeatedly. God, in response to Pharaohs hardness, sent the Angel of Death who was only to be satisfied with the death the first born. It did not matter if he was a rich or poor man. It did not matter if he was a powerful warrior or a coward, because when death overtakes it kills.
Death is an overwhelming force we cant run from. We cant fight it, and none is rich enough to buy a way out, nor poor enough to obtain mercy. Death strikes whenever it wills. However, when the Angel of Death saw the Blood of the Lamb on their door posts, he passed by. The blood is the only thing that can stop death. It was the only substance on earth the Angel of Death respected. There is no preservation but by the blood. We question why God allows the curse. Why do we die, or get hurt financially? Why does God permit us to be hurt? Why does God not keep us from pain? Death is on earth, and we are all subject to it. There is no great race of people that have more power than death. Death is absolute, and it is here in the earth. It is error to blame God because we think he doesnt help us when His provision is already complete. He sent his blood.
The blood of Jesus proves itself constantly, for if the angel of death sees the blood on our home, (the door post of our hearts) he will pass over us. Sickness, poverty, and death may surround us, but because the angel of death respects the blood of God, he will pass over. There is no power, or strength in all of heaven, earth, or under the earth that can establish itself, or raise its power above that of Jesus Christ. His blood flows to us. There is no other way to protect our children, our homes, or anything around us but by the blood of Jesus. For if the angel of death, sickness, poverty, and all manner of cursing tries to come nigh our dwelling it must pass over, for we are set free from the curse of the law. We are bought out of that slavery.
Were not in terror and dread anymore for the law has no power. Christ Jesus became a curse for us. Jesus paid that price and took away our sin. He established us in his purpose by His power. It is by faith we turn to God. We turn to the blood that washes and cleanses. Though your sins be as scarlet God will wash you whiter than snow. Therein is the power that preserves.
How can we stand before God saying we have no power when he has given us all power? How can we question God for what he has given us when he has poured out his life upon this earth? How can we look at this earth and call it a accursed if we know its filled with his life? Without the blood of Jesus one cannot see it, for all stand in this present darkness. The darkness needs to be cleansed so we can look at the earth and one another to see the potential of life flowing in His blood.
What fellowship how precious is the blood. Without that cleansing and power we stand in bondage and fear. We stand powerless to improve our condition. We stand filthy and diseased, abhorred by God,unclean. We are subject to every curse that decides to come close to us. But for the blood we are forever hopelessly lost. God sent His sacred blood so there may be life where there was death. He did not leave us in fear, but has shown that the blood has the power of heaven itself. It can release, change, and move us from death to life. What need or desire, can not find satisfaction in the blood of Christ? What knowledge has value if we can not understand the blood? What manifestation of God do we desire that is not readily given already? His life has been poured out upon the earth at the cross so that wherever we turn, life may be found.
You can know the precious blood of Jesus cleanses, redeems, atones, and preserves. We cannot sustain our life. It is the blood of Jesus that covers in heaven. The standard of our salvation poured out over our sins so God would not see us. What fear of God, or fear of death exhaust us? Turn to the blood. Let us not find our theology too far from the cross of Christ, for there is no other power in this earth.. The blood flows from that cross. It is the preaching of the cross that turns the curse into life, by his blood.
When God made a blood covenant with Abraham he could not finish it for God is a spirit and cannot shed blood. That is until now, for God sealed his covenant with Abraham when Christ died on the cross. By covenant all Abraham had he gave to God. He shed his blood by faith and gave his life. At the cross of Christ God sealed the blood covenant. God shed his blood and gave back to us all His life.
When we accept Jesus as our saviour we make a covenant of blood. We pour our life out. What happens to our old man? We pour him out and God in turn gives us His life.
How does it come to us? Through the blood... At that moment of faith the blood washes over us redeems, and atones for our sins. Removing sin that moment, the blood cleanses us and makes us perfect and pure. Death passes over us for we have been judged already and now are alive. We live, rather not we but Christ lives in us. Not by our own works, nor by our power, but by the blood of Christ we live. We need to understand what is the wealth of authority in the blood of Jesus.
Whenever we need refreshing, we turn to God saying "Im just sin and I need the blood. I need you to protect me; to sustain me." We need to look to His blood, and truly, see how precious that gift is, for in it rests our life.
Its not a complicated formula to get something from God. Its faith in the blood, and thats all. There is only the preaching of the blood. There is only the power that is God given, that we might by faith receive life. Its something we already have. Were not waiting to get healed, were already healed. The spirit of life in the blood has cleansed us, it has taken us out of slavery, it has washed our body, minds, and spirit. Its refreshing us in life, quickening our mortal bodies. The power of life itself is in the blood.
If we dont see the blood then were living in darkness. How then do we find the answers if we dont see? We repent, confessing we are sin and the blood will flow to us. Yes we repent. Im sorry God that Im a mess Im sorry God that Im sick Im sorry God that all I can produce in my life is another mess and then turn to the blood. Cast your eyes toward heaven as that river that flows overtakes you with a blessing. This is so immense, wonderful, and so precious to God.
The world wants us to be unfaithful and turn away from the blood. Religion wants us to be unfaithful, they dont want us to depend on the blood. Ideologists want to go beyond the blood for it is to simplistic in rationality to truly do anything. But, God has said "How precious is the blood."
This simplicity itself is the power God has given us so that we might be protected and preserved by God, so that death would pass us by. It works, it is real, and we can count on it. The power in the blood is the one thing we all need every time we face something that we cant control. We must turn to the blood.
Generation XHas God forgotten about our youth today? Is it true that this Generation X is headed for disaster? Teens seem to be growing up faster than ever. So many options ... Could this all be true? Can our youth commit and make a change in this world? It seems that Nintendo would be first on the priority list rather than sacrificing for our fellow brother. You dont have to read too far into your magazines and newspapers to hear these kind of remarks. The increase of teen pregnancy, suicide and single parent homes has left an unbelieving world very little hope.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity
Faithful words from a teacher to his student. Paul, a seasoned minister of the gospel of Christ, encouraged his young and zealous brother in Christ. Stand strong in Christs love and your commitment to Jesus. Although he was a young man Paul tells Timothy to be an example to the believers. Not to let his youth hinder him from showing the world that Jesus will use anyone to show His love for man.
As a youth minister I am pleased to bring you some very good news. Our Heavenly Father made a promise many years ago. In the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Through all of the current chaos one thing still remains true¾ the Word of God. I know a God that has always chosen the underdog. It seems to me that He enjoys showing us just how much He cares by taking the lowly and exalting them above all. This generation is in just the right place at the right time. This Generation X has a God ordained purpose¾ Gods vision of a world wide work.
Our lives become pure and without the penalty of sin in Jesus. We are made as white as snow by the blood of Jesus.. Teenagers seeking for truth in the world find it has little to offer. We believe in the preaching of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. As the Savior touches the lives of our youth they are empowered by His love and grace to reach out to their generation. In all their ways, the word of God proves to be the life sustaining force by which they live and overcome every trial and temptation. Teens dont just want to be sent to social clubs. They want to make a difference by standing up for what God has shown them in Jesus.
The Grace Tasters youth group, at Amazing Grace Community Church, are establishing themselves as an example to all believers, as our brother Paul had admonished Timothy. It is exciting to see Jesus taking these young lives and using them for the kingdoms work. What was a average teenager is now a zealous saint ever ready to deliver the good news of Jesus Christ. Our teens are taking their faith to their schools by being witnesses, and opening bible studies and prayer groups. They are committing their musical talents to our churchs praise team and standing up as a light of hope.
Recently the teens have taken over and administered their own full church service. They are learning the importance of being accountable to their faith and seeing the importance of participation. As one had preached on "Being a Light To All", others used their skills by making a group tithe box, while yet another gave an exhortation about "The Necessity of Giving God What is His".
The writings to the Corinthian church came true in their lives. All had their part in the service. Not one greater than the other, but all coming together for one purpose. The Holy Spirit moved in their lives and showed them something very special, the tempering of the body of Christ. Todays youth are ready to stand up for Jesus and reshape this generation. Despise not the youth.
Acquire the FireBut the Lord said to Samuel, Do not look at his appearance
or at his physical stature, because I have refused him: For the Lord does not see as a man
sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart, 1 Samuel
16:7. This scripture always touches me. It makes me realize that no matter how the world
sees you, God always knows your heart.
My walk with Christ began when I chose Him instead of the world. He gave me peace, love,
joy, and understanding. Gods power has dramatically changed my life. Ive
learned once you taste His goodness, theres no turning back.
Our youth group, the Grace Tasters, were privileged to experience His awesome power when
we went to Acquire The Fire. It is put on by Teen Mania Ministries who travel around the
United States setting this generations heart on fire for God. There were thousands
of teenagers in the Chicago Amphitheater for one reason, God. They wanted God to touch
their lives, and to turn their lives around. Many did not know Jesus and came to know him
during this time.
The first altar call on Friday evening was the most powerful one I have ever seen. There
had been a speaker that night and at the end he offered up that time to anyone who had
never given their life to Christ. He said "I challenge you now to stand and declare
yourself to the Lord. With no music playing, with no one by your side, stand and shout,
Im yours Lord!" I remember him saying this and then it was completely silent. I
remember thinking of how much courage a person would have to have to do this, or rather
his desire for the Lord.
Then we heard the first person stand and shout as loud as he possibly could,
"Im yours Lord!"
It was the most incredible thing Ive ever heard. After that hundreds followed to
stand and give their livesover yo the Lord. The Holy Spirit us so powerful in that room,
it was incredible. The speaker then told everyone to come to the altar. That part hit me
as I watched hundreds of teenagers running for the altar. When everyone was at the altar,
it was as if the whole floor was covered. These kids only knew they needed God, and that
God would help them and take away their pain. They trusted Him at just that moment, and
many more were added to His kingdom.
One of the greatest things that impressed me during this service was how much we need to
get out and give His word. The people will run to him. God revealed to me that He
will take you as you are. There were kids there with every kind of problem, and they all
knew they needed a change. God greatly revealed to me how much this world needs Him, and
how quickly they will go running into His arms if they know He is there. People in the
world are hurting and they will turn to God if only they know.
We continued the service back at Amazing Grace Community Church, and the spirit was still
flowing. We had a very powerful praise and worship time. Then we opened the altar for
people to give their testimonies. We saw completely changed people. Almost everyone got up
and shared what the Lord had done for them. The testimonies given were very powerful. Kids
who were involved in gangs, drugs, alcohol, or with problems at home all gave their lives
to Jesus. They all said that after this experience with God they would never go back to
their old ways. They told of the new direction they had in their lives, and their New
Hope in Christ.
During these testimonies kids promised they would make a commitment to God. I promised the
same thing. The speaker told us about making commitments to God, and how important they
are. Without sticking to your commitments, it is easier to be drawn away from God and be
right back into your old habits. Ive learned about keeping my promises toGod. At
first they may seem like too much work, but God always helps. The constant blessing of
reading His word daily is so great and powerful. It easily makes everything worth it.
If you need Christ Jesus in your life, He is
ready and waiting for you; Just as you are.
Walking with Christ causes your life to change in many
ways. Some are seen more on the outside and some occur more within your heart. I can
attest to both such changes in my life. I was first set free from sin and the bondage that
comes from sin just over a year ago. Since that day, God has been nothing short of
incredible in rerouting my life. My life has been so positively affected the first thing
that came to my mind was to tell other people of this revelation. I was presented with
this opportunity in my school by becoming leader of a Bible Study on Wednesday mornings,
each week. I am a senior at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and I have the opportunity of
telling my friends and underclassmen about Jesus Christ. This has been a complete blessing
in my life to see freshmen through seniors all come together to share in the love that
Jesus has poured out during this age.
My mission is to speak Gods Word continuously to all whom the Lord brings. At the
start of this school year I began preparing lessons each week and decided to see how
things unraveled. We now consist of eight faithful, which is small but still growth from
last year. One morning we were blessed with 19 people. Praise God! The people who come
faithfully are growing and I fully believe the group will also. As I grow and humble
myself before His grace, He will bring the increase.
Sometimes I stop and realize how privileged I am to be able to share the greatest thing
ever to hit the planet. I know God is using each of us in our group as warriors in His
name. His Word declares that our job as Christians above all is to spread His name. He has
sent us out as sheep among wolves. The mission field is so vast. Whenever 2,000 plus
students gather in one area, all looking for purpose and ready to experiment with anything
that shows itself, the need is great The odds would seem one sided, but appearances are
deceiving. When the Almighty jumps into the contest, the power is manifest in Him.
Every now and then, a new face will show itself. The second they walk into the door I can
tell that most of them come because of something that is wrong, sometimes terribly wrong
in their life. Sometimes when they come in I feel led to talk about certain things on my
heart. Several times as Ive been talking about a topic, as I close Ill notice
a new comer and see tears in their eyes. That is nothing less than God Himself speaking to
their heart and telling them that He loves them and can help them. The bible study is a
place where students feel safe, and where the love of Jesus Christ is spoken.
It all comes down to one thing, one day
everyone will be standing before Jesus, some knowing and some hoping they are holy in His
eyes. Im there to let people know how to be sure they have resurrected life of Jesus
Christ living inside of them. If you have ever wondered if you could feel the love of
Jesus Christ please call or write us. Well always be waiting and God is always ready
to pour out His love on those who ask.
