The Precious Blood of Jesus Part #2 Pastor John Doonan

1Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

The blood of Jesus Christ is precious in God’s eyes. This carrier of life is not a casual matter. Jesus came to us because of our sins and failure, He served man, He magnified the law, and He made it honorable. It is the blood of Jesus that washes us whiter than snow and draws us to the Father. Jesus gave His blood once, and as the High Priest, He entered through the veil by faith. Having finished the law, once and for all, that we might follow where He goes before us. God divided that veil, our doorway to His love, so no one could close it again. The blood of Jesus is the key to God’s heart.
In this study we will look at 12 fundamental points about the precious blood of Jesus.

Redemption In The Blood

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

A curse is not something that happens just to bad people.. A curse isn’t anything little, it isn’t something that you will be able to "deal with." The curse is an overwhelming power that literally swallows you up, and sucks out of you the very breathe of life, joy, and peace. The dreadful curse of the law is death. All who fail the law earn that death. Death, poverty, and sickness will not be cheated.

A blessing is also an overwhelming force, a power from God; a gift of God. A blessing swallows us up, over takes us, and completely surrounds us with His purchased power and His love.

We are just mortal beings who stand between these two great forces. He created it so we would be exercised between blessing and cursing. When all is done God would remain.

We should want Him on our jobs, in our thoughts, and in everything that we do. Because without Him being part of everything, there is nothing except overwhelming forces of death that desire to take us in their directions. When we are in Jesus, there is peace, joy and life.

We stand at the cross of Christ watching Him give himself. We understand that the blood that flows from the cross today is redeeming. It is the price he paid for our sins. We are redeemed from the curse of the law. He was made a curse for us so we may be set free. It was the ransom price so that we would no longer be under the law, and it’s curse.

Jesus took that curse away. His blood paid the price so we could be free from the bondage and the fear of failure. Nothing but the blood of Jesus. There is no way that we can turn to God but by the blood. Any other way will lead us back to bondage. When we are back in fear; there is the terror of God removing us from his presence. But, we know that there is a place that’s safe and we know that the price has been paid.

We are Redeemed!!! We are brought out of slavery. We are not in place anymore where we have no choice. Now we can choose. We choose to believe in what God has called precious. If I was a slave and someone gave me the price to set me free would I not consider that precious? The precious blood of Jesus brings life to those dry bones, as Ezekiel prophesied. We need to understand that the blood was given so that we could realize the power of that vital fluid of life, which is given to us. The blood of Jesus has the power to disarm any manner of slavery or bondage.

Atonement In The Precious Blood

Galations 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (AV)

Through the blood, Christ fulfilled our atonement. Without the shedding of the blood there is no remission of sin. Nothing we can earn in ourselves, or anything we may of our good works do before God, has the power to remove sin. There is only the blood of Jesus alone. The atonement satisfied God and made a way for us to be one with the Father with no barrier of sin blocking our path.

You are not atoned by your works. Just because you have the ability to do something on your own, does not appease the holiness of God. Your best works are still far to short of the glory of God, and unable to take down the wall of separation our sin created. The only atonement is in the blood of Jesus.

If the bones have become dry and dead in your valley then you need the word of God to quicken and bring them to life. That precious blood must flow. If the blood doesn’t flow the body dies. Without faith the blood that flowed from the cross of Christ lays paralyzed in the defiled ground crying for justice. There is no quickening power--no Life. The faith of God has been given to us that we might understand His remission of sin and receive by faith this atonement. Through the blood of Jesus we can approach God with confidence and assurance of acceptance. God cannot hear the prayer of the sinner still in his sin. Where there is no sin by the precious blood of Jesus there is a way towards truth, mercy, and life.

What does my faith mean if I stand before God guilty of sin, guilty of the fear of sin, and I have no power of my own, not even understanding the power that God confirmed with the removal of sin? What does my hope mean? These means nothing without the blood’s precious power.

People often ask the question, "Why do we preach of the blood so…?" They say "it’s so offensive," but the fact of the matter is the blood removes sin, redeems us, and brings us to freedom. It establishes us as part of God’s love. God called it precious.

People try to come to God so many different ways, but without the blood all are guilty. If we turn to the cross of Christ--by it’s power, we are not guilty anymore. The blood cries out for our salvation instead of our judgement.

As we look upon the blood that was shed, we realize the life of God was given to you. God said "the life is in the blood." Jesus became our punishment as the precious life of God spilled out in the earth in judgement of sin. God in Christ Jesus shed God’s blood. Where the life of God exists by faith there is no sin.

The Precious Blood Cleanses

1John 1:7 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The life of God has been given to us in this blood. Where the life of God exists there is no sin. In the blood we have fellowship with our Heavenly Father, but when we deny that power, we stand separated, out of fellowship with God. If we say we have no sin we are a liar as I John states, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Trying, even trying sincerely to figure out what all is wrong with us, simply misses the point. It’s not enough to be a good person, working really hard trying to take care of our family in the way they need. We must confess before God that we are sin, not just individual sins, but that we are completely sin. If we don’t because fear or pride gets in the way we blockade ourselves from the life that is in the blood. There is no person or thing strong enough to take away our guilt. There is no one that can confess our sins to God for us; we have no choice but to realize it is personal. We need to stop trying to make our sin look better with a coating of white paint. We must quit putting band-aids on our sores that will not heal themselves. We may be able to hide from the world’s sight but God knows us and sees us clearly. What really counts is having a personal relationship with God, it should be each individuals priority.

Turn to God confessing you are sin because the gift of His blood, cleanses us of ALL unrighteousness. It washes away the sins, and attitudes. It washes away the disease. It takes our body and by His stripes, (by the blood that flowed from His body,) we are healed. We stand quickened in our mortal body before God. Not just as any man but as a saint in whom the life is the most precious gift God has given. We stand before God ready, not in tears, doubt, or fear. We stand by faith realizing God placed us in Christ. Not by our power but by His power are we prepared to be received by God

Believe… for the blood cleanses. How far can we get away from the cross as a believer? How many times do you hear the cross preached? How many times do we turn back to that cross? How many times is too much? How many times do we say "okay God I want the fellowship, I want to know the life that is there, I want to be cleansed so that I can come back into your presence without guilt.

God says to turn to the blood every time we want to know we are righteous and need fellowship; every time you want there to be no darkness at all. We can stand in the revelation of Jesus Christ with understanding, and can see the heavenlies. We no longer have to walk with our eyes closed in darkness or figure out where we’re going, for we stand in the light, by the blood of Jesus. We do not stand by some power of our own, or some phony spooky spirituality that we might think we have, but only by the power of the blood.

There is no other spirituality, no other life that comes any other way, nothing but the blood of Jesus cleanses. Without that cleansing power, we stand guilty and separated from God. Without the blood we are not spiritual, without the faith in the blood our lives are a lie and we are deceived. There is no other means of redemption, no other atonement, no way of cleansing ourselves of sin on our own. Without the blood we stand guilty.

If we have the blood the full measure of the price is paid. It is finished and the power that is in Christ’s blood cleanses us continually. It’s a washing that flows and flows because He gave His blood to the land. We are that land. We are made of the dust of the earth. The blood of Jesus flows to our defiled land and cleanses. The evil of this earth cannot swallow up the blessing for it is not big enough. The blessing of God is greater then the earth. 1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (AV).

The power of life, the power of the blessing that is in the blood of Jesus abounds and flows. It knows no time, it knows no space because it is the eternal blood of God. It’snot temporary nor is it blood without life, it’s alive. Jesus took His blood before God. He raised from the dead, took

His blood, and sprinkled it on the mercy seat before God. There is a river that flows; it is the river of blood. When we come to the throne of God we come by one way and one way only. That way is by the cleansing that engulfs us as we enter in His presence. Jesus stands and His blood flows to us, His blood cleanses us, and it touches us.

Just a Baby or a King?
Dianne Doonan
He was a baby in a manger, that came for you and me.
Lived His life completely, To die upon a tree
Another could not do it. He alone the Living Word.
The baby in a manger, is Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus, baby beautiful to behold.
Christ the Messiah, stories foretold.
Prophesied and promised, given and received,
My heart belongs to you, yes Lord I believe.
What can I give to Him, He gave all that He had for me
From glory to humanity, He came to set us free.
How do you see Him, a baby or a king?
What will you give Him? Oh give Him everything.
